Getting Started
How does WingBeerSpecials help my restaurant? #
People open WingBeerSpecials already deciding where to eat and drink tonight. You're not competing for attention — you're being shown to someone who has committed to going somewhere.
A claimed listing puts you on the map with your current specials, lets customers follow you for alerts when you post a new deal, and gives you a QR code and printable posters that turn the customers already in your room into followers you can reach again.
Being listed is free. There's no commission and no cut of anything you sell.
How do I get my restaurant listed? #
There's a good chance you already are — we list thousands of Ontario restaurants, and most were added without the owner doing anything. Search your name first.
If you're there, claim it. If you're not, add it — both start from the same page at wingbeerspecials.com/for-restaurants.
How do I know if my restaurant is already listed? #
Search your restaurant's name on the map. If it comes up, you're listed and the next step is claiming it rather than adding it.
What if my restaurant isn't listed? #
Add it yourself — it takes a couple of minutes and it's free.
- Go to wingbeerspecials.com/for-restaurants.
- Choose Add Your Restaurant.
- Fill in your name, address, phone and website.
- Submit it.
- Our team reviews the submission and gets your listing live, then you can claim it and start posting specials.
How do I claim my restaurant? #
Claiming proves you're the owner and unlocks the dashboard. We verify by calling or texting the phone number already on your listing — the one customers see — so nobody can claim a business they don't run.
- Search for your restaurant on WingBeerSpecials.
- Open your restaurant's listing.
- Select Claim This Restaurant.
- Sign in or create your owner account.
- Choose Send SMS Code, or Call Me Instead if you'd rather take a call. We'll show you a masked version of the number so you can check it's yours.
- Enter the 6-digit code within 10 minutes.
- You're verified — the dashboard opens.
How do I create a restaurant owner account? #
There's no separate owner account — it's one WingBeerSpecials account, and claiming a restaurant adds owner powers to it.
Sign up with Google or with an email and password during the claim, and you're set.
How do I access my restaurant dashboard? #
Sign in and go to wingbeerspecials.com/manage. Once you've claimed a restaurant, the For Restaurants link in the top bar takes you straight there.
Bookmark it — it's where everything lives.
How do I reset my owner account password? #
Same as any account: on the sign-in screen tap Forgot password, enter your email, and follow the link we send.
If you signed up with Google there's no password to reset — use Continue with Google.
Managing Your Listing
How do I update my restaurant information? #
Open the Info & Hours tab in your dashboard. You can edit your name, phone, website, address and opening hours there.
These changes are submitted for review rather than going live instantly. It's a deliberate guard — the phone number and address on your listing are what we use to verify ownership, so we check changes to them by hand. Approvals are usually quick.
- Sign in and open your dashboard.
- Select Info & Hours.
- Edit whichever fields need changing.
- Select Save.
- You'll see "Changes submitted for review" — the update goes live once our team approves it.
How do I change my restaurant's address? #
Edit it in Info & Hours and save. Address changes move your pin on the map, so they're reviewed before going live.
How do I update my phone number? #
Edit it in Info & Hours and save. It's reviewed before going live, because your listed number is also how we verify ownership.
How do I update my website? #
Edit it in Info & Hours and save. Include the full address starting with https:// — we'll tidy it up if you don't.
How do I update my hours? #
Info & Hours has an hours editor with a row per day, so you can set different times for each one.
Worth keeping current — your page shows customers whether you're open right now.
How do I add restaurant photos? #
Open the Photos tab and upload. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10MB each — we resize and compress them for you.
Photos of the food and the room do more work than a logo. Your first photo is what customers see beside you in the deal feed.
- Sign in and open your dashboard.
- Select Photos.
- Select the add button and choose your images.
- Wait for the upload to finish — they appear on your page right away.
How do I see what my listing looks like to customers? #
Your At a Glance tab has a View live page link, plus a preview of how you appear in the deal feed. Both show exactly what customers see.
Managing Specials
How do I add a new special? #
Specials go live immediately — no review, no waiting — and everyone following you gets a notification the moment you publish.
- Sign in to your restaurant dashboard.
- Select Specials.
- Select Add Special.
- Enter a title — keep it plain, like Half Price Wings.
- Add a description if there are details worth knowing.
- Choose a category: Wings, Beer, Cocktails, Food, Happy Hour or Other.
- Set the price — a dollar amount, a percentage off, a dollar amount off, BOGO, Free, or Other if it's worded differently.
- Pick the days it runs. Tick every day that applies.
- Set the start and end time.
- Save. It's live, and your followers have been told.
How do I edit an existing special? #
Open the Specials tab, find it in the list and select Edit. Changes are live as soon as you save.
How do I delete a special? #
Open the Specials tab, find it and select Delete. It comes off your page and the map straight away.
If a special is only off for a week, deleting and re-adding it later is the way to do it — see the note below on seasonal deals.
How do I add a recurring weekly special? #
Every special is recurring by design. When you tick Tuesday, the deal runs every Tuesday until you change or delete it.
That's why you'll never see a start date — specials are a weekly schedule, not a calendar entry. For one-off things with a date, use Events instead.
How do I add a timed happy hour? #
Add a special, choose the Happy Hour category, tick the days and set the start and end times — 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, say.
Customers using the Live filter will see you during those hours and not outside them, which is exactly when you want the walk-ins.
How do I add a wing special? #
Add a special and choose the Wings category. That's what puts you in front of customers filtering the map for wings — and wings are what most people arrive here looking for.
How do I add a beer special? #
Add a special and choose the Beer category.
How do I add a food special? #
Add a special and choose the Food category — that's anything that isn't wings.
How do I add a drink special? #
Add a special and choose the Cocktails category. Customers see these under the Drinks filter. Beer has its own category.
How do I add a BOGO promotion? #
Add a special and set the price type to BOGO — you don't need to enter an amount.
BOGO and free deals get their own bracket in the customer price filter, so they're easy to find deliberately.
How do I change the price of a special? #
Open Specials, select Edit on the deal and change the price. Live as soon as you save.
What if a special only runs part of the year? #
Delete it when it ends and add it again when it comes back. Specials run on a weekly repeat with no end date, so there's nothing to schedule.
For anything genuinely one-off — a holiday menu, a long weekend promotion — use Events, which do take a date.
Verifying Specials
Why should I verify my specials? #
Verifying is you saying "this is accurate, right now". Verified deals carry a green checkmark, and when all of yours are verified your map pin turns into a green circle with a checkmark that stands out against every plain orange dot around it.
It's free, it takes one tap, and it's the cheapest credibility on the platform.
What does the verified badge mean? #
It means the owner has personally confirmed that special is accurate and currently running. Customers read it as a signal the listing is being looked after.
How do I verify an individual special? #
Open the Specials tab and select Verify on that deal. A green Verified tag appears on it.
How do I verify all of my specials? #
Select Verify All at the top of the Specials tab — it confirms every deal at once. This is the one-tap version, and it's what turns your map pin green.
How often should I verify my specials? #
Any time your specials change, and otherwise roughly monthly.
Tie it to something you already do — when you print next month's menu, when you set the schedule. It takes seconds.
What happens if a special is no longer available? #
Delete it, or edit it to match what you're actually running. Customers who show up for a deal that ended last month don't blame us — they blame you.
You can also select Unverify to drop the green checkmark while you work out what's replacing it.
How does customer thumbs-up and thumbs-down feedback affect my listing? #
Customers can mark a deal as still on or gone. It's a health check on your listing, visible to us.
Repeated thumbs-down flags a deal for our team to re-check, which can mean it comes off your page. Keeping your specials current and verified is how you avoid that.
Your Dashboard
What can I do from my restaurant dashboard? #
Everything to do with your listing: At a Glance for the summary, Info & Hours, Specials, Events, Photos, Analytics, Reviews, Announcements, your QR Code, Upgrade for billing, and Support.
Find it at wingbeerspecials.com/manage once you've claimed.
What is the "At a Glance" section? #
The landing page of your dashboard — the ninety-second version of how your listing is doing.
It shows pin views and page views for the last 30 days, how many customers have saved you, how many followers you can send push messages to, tonight's specials, and a link to your live page.
How do I see if my listing is complete? #
At a Glance shows your listing status and what's still missing. Work through it — specials in particular, because the deal map only shows restaurants that have them.
How do I see my restaurant's activity? #
At a Glance has an activity feed in plain English — how many customers saw your pin on the map, how many opened your listing to see more, over the last 30 days.
What are Pin Views? #
The number of times your pin appeared on someone's map — your impressions.
It's the top of your funnel: how many people had the chance to notice you.
What are Page Views? #
The number of times someone tapped through to actually open your listing.
This is the more interesting number. Pin views mean you were visible; page views mean you were interesting enough to investigate.
What are Saves? #
The number of customers who bookmarked you — your restaurant or one of your deals — so they can find you again.
A save is the strongest free signal you get. Somebody intends to come back.
How do I know if customers are interacting with my listing? #
At a Glance gives you the headline numbers free: pin views, page views, saves and followers.
The Analytics tab goes deeper — how many asked for directions, tapped your phone number or clicked through to your website. Those detailed metrics are part of Featured.
How do I monitor my restaurant's performance? #
Check At a Glance weekly and Analytics monthly.
The number to watch is the ratio: of everyone who saw your pin, how many opened your page? If that's low, the problem is usually your specials or your photo, not your reach.
Analytics
How do I access my analytics? #
Sign in, open your dashboard and select Analytics.
What analytics do I get for free? #
Free listings see Pin Views, both all-time and for the last 30 days, plus the saves and follower counts on At a Glance.
Featured adds Card Views, Detail Opens, Get Directions, Phone Calls and Website Clicks, a day-by-day chart you can set to 7, 30 or 90 days or all time, and conversion rates showing what share of viewers took an action.
How many people have viewed my restaurant? #
Analytics shows Pin Views for how many saw you on the map, and Detail Opens for how many opened your listing. Free listings see pin views; the rest is part of Featured.
How many people have seen my restaurant on the map? #
That's Pin Views, and it's available on every listing including free ones — all-time and last 30 days.
How many people have opened my restaurant page? #
Page Views on At a Glance, or Detail Opens in Analytics — the same number. It counts customers who tapped through from the map to see more.
How many people have saved my restaurant? #
At a Glance shows your total saves, counting both people who saved your restaurant and people who saved one of your deals.
Can I see which specials are getting the most attention? #
Not per special — analytics are reported for the listing as a whole.
The practical workaround is to change one thing at a time and watch the numbers. Swap a special, wait a fortnight, see whether page views moved.
How can I use my analytics to improve my specials? #
Compare pin views to page views. Plenty of pin views but few page views means people are seeing you and scrolling past — that's a specials-and-photos problem, not a reach problem.
Watch the day-by-day chart for the nights you're quiet, and put your best deal there rather than on a night that's already busy.
Track saves and followers over time. Those are the customers you can reach again for free every time you post.
QR Codes & Posters
What is my restaurant's QR code? #
A code that opens your WingBeerSpecials page when a customer scans it with their phone camera. No app needed.
It's the bridge between the customers already in your room and the ones you can reach later. Scanning can offer to follow you, which means every future special you post lands on their phone.
How do I find my QR code? #
Sign in, open your dashboard and select QR Code. It's generated for you — nothing to set up.
How do I download my QR code? #
- Sign in to your restaurant dashboard.
- Select QR Code.
- Check the preview and the link underneath it.
- Select Download PNG or Download SVG.
- Print it, or send the file to whoever does your printing.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG? #
PNG is a normal image. Use it for anything on a screen, for social posts, or for printing at the size it comes.
SVG stays sharp at any size. Use it when a printer is putting your code on something big — a window decal, a banner — or when a designer asks for it.
When in doubt, PNG.
How do I print my QR code? #
The QR Code tab has ready-made posters, which is easier than downloading the code and laying it out yourself.
There's a Portrait poster at 8.5×11" with your name big and a 4" code, and a Half-page sheet that prints two identical tear-offs per page so you can cut them and put one on every table. Each one gives you Print, PDF or PNG.
Where should I put my QR code? #
Anywhere a customer has thirty idle seconds: tables, menus, takeout packaging, receipts, posters, the front window, bar tops, washroom mirrors.
It works off-premises too — put it in your social posts and email newsletters.
The rule of thumb: put it where someone is already sitting still with their phone out. That's what makes the difference between a code people notice and one they walk past.
What is the auto-subscribe QR variant? #
A version of your code that opens a "Follow this restaurant?" prompt when it's scanned, instead of just showing your page. It's on by default, and there's a toggle in the QR Code tab.
Use it for table tents and event booths, where the customer is sitting down and happy to tap once. Following is free for them and free for you, and it means your next special reaches them directly.
Events & Entertainment
How do I add live entertainment? #
Events are separate from specials. A special is a weekly repeat; an event has a date.
- Sign in and open your dashboard.
- Select Events.
- Select Add Event.
- Give it a title — the band's name, or Trivia Night.
- Choose the type: Live music, Karaoke, Trivia, DJ / dance, Game day, Special guest, Other.
- Set the date, and Repeat until if it runs weekly.
- Add a time, description, cover charge and ticket link if you have them — all optional.
- Save. It appears on your page right away.
How do I promote a live band? #
Add an event with the type Live music and put the band's name in the title — people search for the act, not the category.
Add the cover charge if there is one. Customers would rather know than be surprised at the door.
How do I add karaoke? #
Add an event and choose the Karaoke type. If it's every Thursday, set the date to the next one and use Repeat until so you're not re-entering it weekly.
How do I add trivia? #
Add an event and choose the Trivia type, then use Repeat until for a weekly night.
How do I add a special event? #
Add an event and pick whichever type fits: Live music, Karaoke, Trivia, DJ / dance, Game day, Special guest, Other. Other covers anything that doesn't fall into the rest, and shows on your page simply as an event.
How do I edit an event? #
Open the Events tab, find it and select Edit. Changes are live when you save.
How do I remove an event? #
Open the Events tab, find it and delete it. If the band cancels, do this — a customer who drives over for a no-show remembers it.
How far in advance should I post an event? #
A week or two for a one-off, so people can plan around it. Same-day still works for the walk-in crowd checking what's on tonight.
For anything weekly, post it once with Repeat until and forget it.
Can customers discover my events? #
Yes. Events show on your restaurant page with a badge saying what kind, and they appear on our public event pages by category.
Events are free on every listing.
Announcements
What are announcements? #
A push message you write yourself, sent to everyone following your restaurant. It lands on their phone like any other notification.
Different from a new special, which notifies followers automatically. An announcement is for everything else — a patio opening, a last-minute band, a quiet Tuesday you'd like to fill.
How do I send an announcement? #
- Sign in and open your dashboard.
- Select Announcements.
- Write your message in the composer.
- Check the follower count shown — that's who it reaches.
- Send.
How many announcements can I send? #
One a day.
That's a deliberate cap. The fastest way to lose followers is to become the restaurant that notifies them about nothing.
What should I use announcements for? #
Things with a deadline. Patio's open, kitchen's doing a one-night special, band starts at nine, game's on the big screen.
Don't spend one on "we're open today". Save it for the message that actually moves someone off their couch.
Reviews & Suggestions
What is the Reviews tab? #
Where customer reviews and suggestions about your restaurant land. Your dashboard shows a count so you can see when something new arrives.
How do I see my reviews? #
Sign in, open your dashboard and select Reviews. If nobody has left one yet the tab will say so.
Can I respond to a review? #
Yes — you can reply from the Reviews tab, and your response shows with the review. A short, non-defensive reply to a critical review reads better to everyone else than no reply at all.
Food Trucks
How do I list my food truck? #
Food trucks register directly rather than claiming an existing listing — you move, so there's nothing on the map to claim.
- Go to wingbeerspecials.com/for-restaurants.
- Choose I have a Food Truck.
- Fill in your truck's details.
- Submit. Our team reviews it and gets you live.
- Sign in and open your dashboard to start posting stops.
How do I claim my food truck listing? #
If your truck is already on the map, open its page and select Claim. If it isn't, register it instead — that's the normal route for trucks.
How do I add my food truck's location? #
Locations are posted as stops — each one is a place and a date, so customers can see where you'll be.
- Sign in and open your truck dashboard.
- Select Events.
- Select Add.
- Choose the type of stop: Festival, Brewery, Farmers market, Market / pop-up, Private event, Other.
- Enter the location and the date.
- Add times and details if you have them.
- Save. Your truck pin appears on the map for that date.
How do I update my food truck schedule? #
Add each stop as you book it, and edit or delete any that change.
Getting into the habit of posting the week ahead every Monday is what makes the difference — customers check for where you'll be, and an empty schedule teaches them to stop checking.
How do I announce where my food truck will be? #
Posting a stop puts you on the map for that date.
If you're on Featured you can also send an announcement to your followers — one a day — which is the fastest way to tell regulars you've pulled up somewhere new.
How do I add food truck events? #
Stops and events are the same thing for a truck. Choose the type that fits — Festival, Brewery, Farmers market, Market / pop-up, Private event, Other — and customers see the right badge on your pin.
Membership & Billing
What membership options are available? #
Two: free, and Featured.
Featured is $19.99/month, or $219.89/year if you pay yearly, and it starts with a 7-day free trial.
What's included with the free listing? #
More than most people expect, and it isn't a trial — it stays free.
You get your listing on the map, unlimited specials, events, photos, your QR code and printable posters, customers following you, automatic notifications to those followers every time you post a special, verification checkmarks, reviews, and pin views, page views, saves and follower counts.
What's included with a paid membership? #
Featured adds three things.
Better placement — the deal feed sorts open restaurants by distance, and Featured makes you rank as if you were 8 km closer than you actually are. It's a boost, not an override: a place genuinely nearer than that still comes first.
Full analytics — card views, detail opens, directions, phone calls, website clicks, a day-by-day chart and conversion rates.
The announcement composer — write your own push message to your followers, up to one a day.
How do I upgrade my listing? #
- Sign in and open your dashboard.
- Select Upgrade.
- Choose monthly or yearly.
- Enter your payment details on the secure checkout page.
- Your 7-day free trial starts immediately.
How do I change my membership? #
Open the Upgrade tab and select Manage Billing. That opens your billing portal, where you can switch between monthly and yearly, update your card or cancel.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership? #
Yes, any time, through Manage Billing. There's no lock-in and no cancellation fee.
How does billing work? #
Featured is $19.99/month or $219.89/year, charged automatically to your card on the same date each period.
The first 7 days are free. Cancel inside the trial and you're not charged.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
How do I update my payment information? #
Open the Upgrade tab and select Manage Billing, then update your card in the billing portal.
How do I cancel my subscription? #
- Sign in and open your dashboard.
- Select Upgrade.
- Select Manage Billing.
- Choose Cancel in the billing portal.
What happens to my listing if I cancel? #
Nothing disappears. Your listing, specials, events, photos, QR code, followers and reviews all stay exactly as they are.
You go back to the free tier: standard map placement, pin-view analytics rather than the full set, and no announcement composer. Your followers still get notified automatically every time you post a special.
Growing Your Reach
How can I get more customers using WingBeerSpecials? #
In rough order of effort-to-payoff:
Post real specials and keep them current. This one isn't optional — the deal map is built from specials, so a listing without any can't appear on it at all.
Verify everything, so your pin goes green.
Print your QR posters and put them on the tables. It costs a sheet of paper and turns customers already in your room into followers you can reach for free from then on.
Add photos — you're competing for a glance in a feed.
Post your events. They're free and they're the reason people pick one Thursday over another.
How do I get customers to follow my restaurant? #
The QR code, with the auto-subscribe option left on. A customer sitting at your table scans it and taps once to follow.
Give them a reason to be looking at the code — put it where they're waiting, and let the poster do the asking.
Every follower is somebody you can reach for free, forever, every time you post a special.
How do I get more people to save my restaurant? #
Saves come from being worth remembering. A distinctive deal gets saved; a generic one doesn't.
Photos help more than owners expect — the save button sits right next to your picture.
How can I promote my QR code? #
Print the poster pack from your dashboard and use all of it: portrait posters by the register and on the bulletin board, half-page tear-offs on every table.
Then take it off-premises — the code is just an image, so put it in your Instagram and Facebook posts, your email newsletter, your takeout bags and your receipts.
How can I use WingBeerSpecials on social media? #
Share your restaurant page link when you post about a special — it unfurls with your name and your deals.
Post your QR code image every so often with a line about following you for deal alerts.
It works in the other direction too: people who found you here go looking for your social accounts, so keep your website link current in Info & Hours.
How can I promote my specials? #
Posting a special already notifies every one of your followers — free, on every plan. That's the promotion.
So the lever is follower count, not post frequency. Grow followers with the QR code, and each new deal you post reaches more people than the last.
How can I promote my live entertainment? #
Post it as an event with the right type and the act's name in the title. It shows on your page and on our public event pages.
On Featured you can also send an announcement the day of — that's the one that fills the room.
How can I use my analytics to attract more customers? #
Find your weak night in the day-by-day chart and put your best deal there. Discounting a night that's already full costs you money; discounting a dead Tuesday makes you money.
Watch the gap between pin views and page views. A big gap means people see you and scroll on — change the offer or the photo, not the marketing.
Restaurant Support
My restaurant is listed incorrectly. What do I do? #
If you've claimed it, fix what you can yourself in Info & Hours — name, phone, website, address and hours. Those changes go for a quick review before they're live.
For anything else, open the Support tab in your dashboard and tell us what's wrong, or email [email protected].
I can't claim my restaurant. What do I do? #
The usual causes:
The listed phone number is old or goes to a line you can't answer. Use the verify manually option instead — give us your name, your role and why you're the owner, and we'll check by hand.
There's no phone number on the listing at all. Manual verification again.
Someone has already claimed it. If that's a former manager or owner, email [email protected] and we'll sort out the transfer.
The code didn't arrive, or expired. Codes last 10 minutes — request a new one, and try Call Me Instead if texts aren't coming through.
I can't access my dashboard. What do I do? #
Check you're signed in with the same account you claimed with — a Google sign-in and an email sign-in with the same address are two different accounts.
Then go to wingbeerspecials.com/manage directly.
If your claim is still awaiting manual review, the dashboard opens once it's approved. Email us if it's been more than a couple of days.
My special isn't showing. What do I do? #
Specials publish instantly, so if you can't see it something else is going on.
- Check the Specials tab — did it save? If it's not in the list, it didn't.
- Check the days you ticked. A Tuesday-only special won't show on the map on a Monday unless the customer's When? filter is set to Tuesday or All.
- Check the times. With the Live filter on, customers only see it during those hours.
- Look at your live page from At a Glance — that's the real answer, not the map with your own filters applied.
- Still missing? Open a ticket from the Support tab.
My QR code isn't working. What do I do? #
Open the QR Code tab and check the link shown underneath it in your browser — that confirms whether the code or the print is the problem.
If the link is fine, it's usually printing: too small, too little white space around it, or printed on a dark or glossy surface. Reprint from the poster templates, which are sized properly.
If the link itself is wrong, tell us through the Support tab.
My restaurant hours aren't displaying correctly. What do I do? #
Open Info & Hours and check each day's row. Overnight closing times — open till 2am — are the usual culprit.
Remember hours changes are reviewed before going live, so give it a little time after saving. If it's still wrong after that, open a ticket.
How do I contact WingBeerSpecials support? #
Your dashboard has a Support tab — open a ticket there and you can follow the whole conversation in one thread, with your restaurant already attached.
Or email [email protected]. Mention your restaurant's name and city so we can find you.
