Sip, Stamp, Give Back: Your Fall Bucket List

Fall in Niagara has a rhythm all its own.

The escarpment turns amber, the air carries that first crisp bite, and the taprooms that felt too crowded in July suddenly become the coziest places on earth. It's sweater weather. It's firepit weather. It's the season for lingering over a flight you didn't plan to order.

This year, there's a new reason to get out and explore it all: the Build & Brew Passport. Running from September 14 to December 23, 2026, this season-long craft crawl takes you to nine Niagara breweries and cideries—and every stamp you collect supports Habitat for Humanity Niagara's affordable home builds. It's a bucket list item that actually gives back.

Here's everything you need to know to make this your best fall yet.

Why This Belongs on Your Fall Bucket List

It's a built-in excuse to explore. Niagara-on-the-Lake, Beamsville, St. Catharines—three regions, nine stops, and a season's worth of scenic drives. The Benchlands stretch of Beamsville is especially stunning in October, when the escarpment does the heavy lifting for the views.

It's absurdly good value. A passport costs $35. The perks add up to more than $85 at menu prices. That's more than double your money back, and if you only make it to a handful of stops, it's still paid for itself.

It's flexible. You have from mid-September to just before Christmas. No rush. No pressure. Three unhurried outings will finish the whole thing—or stretch it out and make it last all season.

It supports something real. Proceeds from every passport go directly to Habitat for Humanity Niagara. The breweries donated the perks and prizes, which is why the value stacks up the way it does. You were going to go for a flight somewhere this fall anyway—why not make it count?

Why this Passport Matters Beyond the Pint

The Build & Brew Passport is more than a fundraiser—it's a community coming together. As Madison Meloche, Community Fundraising Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity Niagara, puts it:

"The Build & Brew Passport is a wonderful example of what can happen when local businesses and community partners come together for a great cause. I am incredibly grateful to our participating breweries, cideries, and to WingBeerSpecials.com for helping bring this program to life. Every passport purchased helps support current and future Habitat homeowners, creating opportunities for families in our community to build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership."

That spirit of partnership is exactly what the passport represents. Nine local businesses donated their perks and prizes. Hundreds of participants will stamp their way across the region. And every passport sold helps build safe, decent, affordable homes for families right here in Niagara.

The Complete Nine-Stop Lineup

Here's your bucket list, organized by region so you can plan the perfect fall day trip:

Niagara-on-the-Lake (Five Stops)

The densest cluster and the most walkable. Park once and make a day of it.

StopPerk
The Exchange BreweryFree 3 oz sample + 20% off food
Niagara Oast House Brewers(Included in passport)
Ironwood Cider HouseBuy-one-get-one Essential Flights
Shiny Apple CiderFree cider or wine sample + BOGO flights
NC CraftFree 4 oz draft sample

Why it's perfect for fall: NOTL in autumn is postcard material. The leaves along the Niagara Parkway are at their peak in mid-to-late October, and the town itself is quieter than summer. Pair The Exchange Brewery with a walk around town, then hit the cider houses for a slower afternoon.

Beamsville / The Benchlands (Two Stops)

Out where the escarpment does the heavy lifting for the views.

StopPerk
Bench BrewingTasting flight for $12
Newark Brewing$5 pints + 10% off food

Why it's perfect for fall: The drive along the Benchlands is one of the most scenic in Ontario when the leaves turn. Bench Brewing's patio is a stunning spot to watch the sunset, and Newark's $5 pints make it an easy stop to linger at.

St. Catharines (Two Stops)

The stop to save for when you're actually hungry.

StopPerk
Decew Falls BrewingTasting flight for $10
Coldbreak BrewingBuy a pound of wings, get the second at half price

Why it's perfect for fall: Decew Falls is stunning in autumn—the waterfall, the gorge, the colours. And Coldbreak's wings are the perfect way to end a day of crawling. Save this region for last.

How to Conquer the Bucket List: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Buy your passport before you plan anything else.

Head to BUILD & BREW PASSPORT It's $35, lives on your phone, and requires no app download. Activate it with your email and you're ready to go.

Step 2: Plan three unhurried outings.

Don't try to do all nine stops in one day. The passport is designed to be enjoyed over the season. Here's a suggested itinerary:

  1. Outing 1 (September/October): Niagara-on-the-Lake. Hit all five stops. This is your densest run and the most stamps you'll collect in a single day.
  2. Outing 2 (October/November): Beamsville. Bench Brewing and Newark Brewing, paired with a scenic drive along the escarpment.
  3. Outing 3 (November/December): St. Catharines. Decew Falls and Coldbreak. Save this for when you're hungry—those wings are calling.

Step 3: Check in at the bar.

No QR codes. No codes to type. Just open the passport, tap "check in," and your phone's location confirms you're actually there. That's your stamp. It keeps the crawl honest for everyone chasing the prizes, and it means staff can pour your sample instead of fussing with a scanner on a busy Friday.

Step 4: Collect stamps, earn entries.

Every stamp you collect is automatically one entry in the Master Builder Stamp Collector draw—the larger of the two prize pools. More stamps, more entries. Stamp all nine and you also land one entry in the separate Build & Brew Completion Prize draw. You don't have to choose between them. Finishing the crawl simply puts you in both.

Step 5: Mark your calendar for the deadline.

Stamp collecting closes December 23, 2026. Draws happen after the program closes. Don't let the season slip away without finishing.

The Bottom Line

As Madison Meloche put it, this is what can happen when local businesses and community partners come together for a great cause—creating opportunities for families in our community to build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.
